Meeting Spaces

Residence Life & Student Housing offers numerous meeting spaces and outdoor facilities for reservation throughout the academic year.

Reservations are open to UNM departments, UNM chartered student organizations, and external organizations (subject to RLSH approval). Reservable facilities include small and large lounges, the Hokona Cellar Game Room, Ballroom and Classroom, LaPo Plaza, Lower Johnson Field/Courts, and the Roma Pedway between the SRC Commons and Hokona Hall. Spaces are available for reservation Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. Spaces are unavailable on UNM Holidays, during the 1st week of classes and during finals weeks. Please see the list of facilities and their descriptions below. 


Hokona Ballroom

Hokona Ballroom

With a maximum capacity of 250 theater style, and 120 for seated dining, the Hokona Ballroom is dynamic venue for banquets, dances, group meetings, or open floor events. It includes the ballroom space and the informal lounge seating in the back. Groups provide their own audio-visual equipment. ADA Accessible.

With a maximum capacity of 70 people, the Hokona Classroom a great venue for meetings, presentations, and lectures. Groups provide their own audio-visual equipment. ADA Accessible

Hokona Ballroom

Hokona Main Lounge

The mid-century modern style of the Hokona Lounge makes it a great setting for casual group gatherings. The Main Lounge has a permanent seating arrangement with ultra-suede sofas and coffee tables arranged in small group seating area with a maximum capacity of 150, reception-style. The room features beautiful views and a grand piano. Food and drink are not allowed in this area. The Hokona Main Lounge is flanked by the smaller boardroom-style East and West Lounges which can be reserved separately or in tandem.

These small lounge areas work well for breakout sessions, small office conferences or small group meetings.  With The lounges provide fixed seating, a large boardroom-style table and chairs and accommodate up to 20 guests, including additional seating not at the table. Food and drink are not allowed in the lounges.

La Posada

This outdoor area is great for dining events, live music events, or small tables for circulating materials to students. Restrictions exist regarding noise and supplies and there is limited shade/electricity. Outdoor furniture not provided. ADA Accessible.

The Hut at RVA

The Hut at RVA (summer only)

Located in the southern-most courtyard of RVA, this versatile space provides a tables and chairs for 20, and a small kitchenette. The Hut’s location makes it a convenient small meeting space for summer conference groups lodging at RVA. When rented with the Courtyard, it provides a great indoor/outdoor venue for events. ADA Accessible.

Lower Johnson Courts

With its sandpit volleyball courts, basketball courts, and tree-shaded lawn area, Lower Johnson Field is a great outdoor space for casual events, picnics, or outdoor group activities. The courts and lawn area can be rented separately. Tents and portable B-B-Q pits are not permitted.

 

Our RLSH Conference Services staff are available to assist with your reservation request. Email lodging@unm.edu, or call 505-277-2660 for information, rates, or to request an Event Space Reservation Request Form. Completed forms/DPRs must be received at least two weeks in advance of your event date. Payments from UNM departments and UNM-affiliated groups are made via Departmental Purchase Requisition (DPR). Outside groups pay via credit card. All reservation requests are subject to RLSH approval.
