Students approved for early move-in will be assessed a fee of $175, which will be placed on their student account, for their participation in the Advanced Arrival program.

Started in 2016, Lobo Reclaim was created to minimize the number of usable items residents were throwing out during move-out and minimize the overall cost of move-in, by collecting, recycling and reselling student-donated items during move-in. Now, in its sixth year, Lobo Reclaim gives students the opportunity to buy gently used items at a huge discount instead of buying new. It keeps items with more life to live out of the trash and landfills. So don’t go out and buy new hangers or a shower caddy, buy from Lobo Reclaim and help the environment and your on-campus community.

Move-in can generate a lot of trash! UNM strives to reduce trash production through recycling. Every Residence Life & Student Housing building has a permanent trash and recycling area. However, during move-in, additional receptacles for trash, cardboard, and be available—locations are marked on the map. Please contribute to a more sustainable UNM and recycle whenever possible—dispose of flattened cardboard and Styrofoam in the designated bins.
Trash, cardboard recycling, and Styrofoam recycling receptacles will be available in the following locations:
- Coronado Hall – east-side of parking lot
- SRC Commons – west of unit G
- Redondo Village Apartments – east-side of parking lot
- Hokona Hall – near Santa Clara hall
Move-in can generate a lot of trash! UNM strives to divert waste and reduce our environmental footprint through recycling cardboard and Styrofoam during move in. On the following pages, the maps indicate where additional trash and blue recycling receptacles will be available. Help us reduce waste by disposing of trash and recycling in the proper bins.
Some tips!
• Empty boxes completely
• Flatten all cardboard before placing it in the designated cardboard bin
• Styrofoam acceptable is only rigid #6 PS (polystyrene)
• Bag all trash before placing it in the dumpster
