Housing Options for Graduate Students

Student Housing is more than a Traditional Residence Hall!

The University of New Mexico offers a wide variety of living options for students who are accustomed to a more independent and mature lifestyle. We know graduate students have specific needs for their living learning environment. That's why we offer some great options for graduates, from th SRC Apartments on central campus, to our downtown living option, Lobo Rainforest.


  • Lobo Rainforest- Downtown lifestyle, academic culture. Lobo Rainforest student housing opened in Spring 2018, offering an exciting and unique student living experience in downtown Albuquerque in the Innovation District.  Housing features 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment style living, with washer /dryers included in each apartment, programming spaces, a staffed help desk and a gym. Lobo Rainforest is also home to the UNM Innovate Academy, linked closely to Innovate ABQ, with on-site collaboration, maker’s space, offering a variety of UNM learning opportunities. Innovation Academy students and current UNM residents' living space is closely linked to Innovate ABQ resources, including on-site collaboration, maker’s space, internship opportunities, and specially designed programming, classrooms and activities.
  • Other Main Campus Housing- All our traditional, suite and apartment style main campus residence halls are available for graduate and undergraduate students unless restricted for a particular program. Graduate students may choose from Living Learning Communities or other non-affiliated communities based on living preferences.
