Spring Move-in 2021
This spring, the move-in process has been designed to limit the number of people in each space and hopefully reduce interactions between residents, and to do our best to separate out-of-state students from in-state students. Students will need to arrive, check-in, and move-in to their assigned space during their selected time block.
We will have two time-blocks during the move-in days allocated (which are outlined below): 9A-1P, 1P- 5P. We will be allowing a maximum of 10% of the building occupancy to move-in during each timeslot.
Out-of-State students will need to select a timeslot between Monday, January 11 and Wednesday, January 13. We are asking out-of-state students to return early enough that they can immediately begin their self-monitoring period within the residence halls.
In-State students will need to select a timeslot between Thursday, January 14 and Sunday, January 17. We are asking in-state students to wait to move into campus to give a window of time between the arrival of out-of-state and in-state students to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
The move-in sign-up is currently available for students to begin selecting a move-in. Students will be able to select via their housing dashboard, which is accessible here: https://unmresidence.symplicity.com. Students will receive notice back confirming or denying their requested selection time. Students who are denied will be instructed to reselect a time with additional instructions to aid their selection.
Students must select a move-in time no later than 5:00PM on Friday, January 8, 2021. Students who do not select a move-in time will be assigned a time from the remaining available timeslots, and they will be notified of their assigned check-in time on Monday, January 11, 2020.

Move In Fall 2020
We are so glad you will be joining us this fall! Our move-in process is different this year, so if you are a returning resident, please read this carefully.
Check in is by appointment only. Check your UNM email for confirmation of your selected check-in block. If you did not select a date and time before August 6, then you have been assigned one.
All residents will check in via a drive-up process located in the R parking lot at the corner of Girard and Central. Please review the map below. Residents will enter campus from Central, then proceed east on Redondo Drive to the parking lot entrance. You will stop at several stations, which include:
1 - Lobocard - pick up your UNM ID (LoboCard) if you are a new student.
2 - UNM Housing - pick up your room keys, mailbox key and your Welcome to UNM Housing kit.
3 - Parking (PATS) - Pick up your UNM Parking Permit, if you have purchased one. And get your free ABQ Ride (Albuquerque bus system) sticker for your LoboCard, too!
4 - Unload - After leaving the Parking station, you will be given directions to your residence hall to unload. Please remember you may have only one move-in helper with you at a time in the halls, and both you and your helper must wear a mask at all times.
Important Notes:
Lobo Rainforest Residents - you will check in on main campus using the same drive-up process.
Lobocards - Your UNM ID / LoboCard serves as your access control for living in UNM Housing, and for accessing your meal plan. If you are new to UNM, please be sure you have uploaded your photo to LoboCard, so they can have your ID printed and ready for pickup. Returning UNM students who have lost their card, or do not have the new card with the imbedded proximity chip will need to contact LoboCard to arrange a replacement.
If you have questions, please contact us at 505-277-2606 or housing@unm.edu

NEW COVID-19 Safety Measures for Fall 2020 - One Resident per room Trad/Suites; Four Residents per ApartmentImpact on Housing Spaces -- Fall WAITLIST and Exception Requests
The University is developing COVID-19 safety and health guidelines to protect you and other Lobos this fall. To make the recommended social distancing possible in the living environment, we will be assigning only one resident per room in traditional and suite style residence halls, and a maximum of four residents per apartment. Taking these measures to protect student health means that we will have less housing available than usual.
We will first give priority for on-campus housing to first-year students, followed by students who completed the Priority Renewal Registration. Any student who doesn't’t meet these criteria will be placed on a waitlist. Once you submit your 2020-2021 housing contract, and it is approved, you will get more information from us via email which will outline more about your status in our assignment process.
For additional information regarding the process, waitlist and Exception Requests, see UNM Housing Coronavirus Information page. The deadline for submitting Exception Requests is Sunday June 21, 2020 at 11:59PM.June 8, 2020
