High Traffic Notice – Fall 2023 Resident Move-In Days
UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) is notifying the UNM community, permit holders, and visitors to expect HIGH VEHICLE & FOOT TRAFFIC on Friday, August 11 to Saturday, August 12 and again on Thursday, August 17 to Sunday, August 20, because of on-campus resident – Residence Life & Student Housing and Casas del Rio – student move-in days. Here’s what you need to know:
Road Closures/Delays
- Southbound on East Redondo Drive
- Closed from the entrance of Campus Boulevard, Northeast of Casas del Rio to Princeton Drive, Northwest of R-lot.
- Redondo Drive along Johnson Field
- Redondo Roundabout near Casas del Rio
- Used as an entrance point for resident vehicles utilizing Roma Avenue or “Resident Pedway” for unloading personal belongings.
Parking access for specific lots or permit types
- R-lot on Central and Girard
- West section closed for move in and checking in residents.
- Current R-lot permit holders may use the East section for parking.
- R-lot near Hokona Hall
- Residents and their visitors will be unloading personal belongings for move in. Expect congestion.
- C-lot near Zimmerman Library
- Used as an exit point for resident vehicles utilizing Roma Avenue or “Resident Pedway” for unloading personal belongings.
Alternative routes/parking
- Utilize Girard Boulevard if traveling southbound on the east side of campus
- PATS enforcement officers will be on site to provide traffic and permit control.
- PATS Business Office open for modified hours during Resident Move-In Days
- Saturday, August 12 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, August 19 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, August 20 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
