High Traffic Notice – Fall 2023 Resident Move-In Days

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) is notifying the UNM community, permit holders, and visitors to expect HIGH VEHICLE & FOOT TRAFFIC on Friday, August 11 to Saturday, August 12 and again on Thursday, August 17 to Sunday, August 20, because of on-campus resident – Residence Life & Student Housing and Casas del Rio – student move-in days. Here’s what you need to know:

 Road Closures/Delays

• Southbound on East Redondo Drive
  • Closed from the entrance of Campus Boulevard, Northeast of Casas del Rio to Princeton Drive, Northwest of R-lot.
• Redondo Drive along Johnson Field
• Redondo Roundabout near Casas del Rio

• • Used as an entrance point for resident vehicles utilizing Roma Avenue or “Resident Pedway” for unloading personal belongings.

 Parking access for specific lots or permit types

• R-lot on Central and Girard
  • West section closed for move in and checking in residents.
  • Current R-lot permit holders may use the East section for parking.

• R-lot near Hokona Hall
  • Residents and their visitors will be unloading personal belongings for move in. Expect congestion.
• C-lot near Zimmerman Library
  • Used as an exit point for resident vehicles utilizing Roma Avenue or “Resident Pedway” for unloading personal belongings.

 Alternative routes/parking

• Utilize Girard Boulevard if traveling southbound on the east side of campus
• PATS enforcement officers will be on site to provide traffic and permit control.
• PATS Business Office open for modified hours during Resident Move-In Days
  • Saturday, August 12 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 19 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 20 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
