Updated UNM Housing Guest Policy

We are pleased to announce an update to the Guest Policy in Student Housing. Please take a few minutes to review the information below so you understand expectations for hosting guests in your space.

The following is the full policy, with the new addition highlighted in the overnight guest guidelines:
Guests
A guest is any person not assigned to the respective room. All guests must be UNM students, except family or friends assisting with move-in or move-out. Residents are responsible for their guests’ behavior and must escort them at all times. Guests must follow all residence hall policies. Guests should use the bathroom matching their expressed gender identity or designated guest/gender-neutral bathrooms.
Overnight guest guidelines:
- Roommate(s) must approve the stay
- Limit: one guest over room occupancy
- Stay limited to three consecutive nights, not exceeding nine nights per term
- No overnight guests are allowed during the first two weeks and the last two weeks of the semester
- Guests must be registered with RLSH for each overnight stay
Guest Registration
Prior to their visit, RLSH requires registration of all overnight guests and any guest who is not a resident of the same building as the host.
