2019 Summer Intern Housing Program

UNM Residence Life and Student Housing offers safe, affordable and convenient housing to students with summer internships. Our contracts are flexible and include only the weeks you need. Apartments are furnished with a full complement of furniture. Interns provide their own dishes, bed/bath linens and other personal items.

Convenient Apartment Living

We provide single accommodations (private bedrooms) in shared apartment‐style housing within our two on-campus apartment complexes, the Student Residence Commons and Redondo Village Apartments. Individual bedrooms include a twin XL bed, desk, chair, night stand, dresser and closet area. Community areas within the apartment include, bathroom(s), a living/dining area, a storage room for large items, and kitchen, with oven, stove, microwave, and full-sized refrigerator. Interns are welcome to bring their own small refrigerator for their rooms.

Amenities and Pricing

  • Contracts with weekly rates of $165 per week (4 week minimum)
  • Furnished (furniture and basic appliances provided)24/7 on-campus customer service desk 
  • All utilities included
  • Free laundry facilities 
  • Mailboxes available
  • Outdoor recreational facilities including basketball, sand volleyball and tennis courts as well as BBQ grills and running path
  • Parking permits and gym memberships are available at an additional cost
  • 24/7 customer service desk and on-duty Conference Guest Assistant
  • 24-hour safety escorts
  • Payment plans available
  • Roommate requests available

Application and Contract

Please review the following before submitting your application: 

Email the completed application to lodging@unm.edu with “Intern application attached” in the subject line. 

Paying for Summer Housing

Payment options include credit/debit card (preferred), or check. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an email with an invoice and payment instructions. Complete your payment according to your instructions. Receipt of your payment reserves your room.

Payments made for interns by universities other than UNM are due upon receipt of invoice. Rooms will be reserved upon receipt of payment. Interns are responsible for ensuring their University's timely payment. Payments made by UNM departments via DPR can be arranged by calling 505.277.2660.

Smoke and Alcohol-Free Environment

UNM Residence Life and Student Housing provides a smoke and alcohol-free environment for all guests that stay with us. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in the residence halls and their surrounding areas. Smoking is permitted in two designated outside areas only. Violation of this policy may result in forfeit of contract and/or charges for remediation.
